(# 33) Engaged

Hi All,
You all know I've done this before, but Tony says it counts as a "New Thing" because I've never been engaged to him before. Life is just one adventure after another isn't it? I'm leaving for St. Maarten's tonight to vacation with my friend Davee for a week. I guess it's going to be part Bachlorette party and early Birthday celebrations (she turns 50 this year too). Have a great week all. That's my plan anyway, Sue

(#32) Canoe Trip

Don't ever try this! Unless you're in great physical condition (which is clear now that I am not)every muscle in my body is screaming at me now. My Son Doug and I went on a 2 day Canoe trip, that involved an over night camp out, out in the booneys (no water or toilets either)just along the Colorado River. We started just over the boarder in AZ at Moabi Park and went up stream 17 miles (10 on Sat. and 7 on Sun.). They Nic Named me "Whimpy Woman" because I just couldn't hang with all the testosterone we had on this trip. I was so grateful to our tour leader Chuck for rowing my share of the first half on Sat. and the second half of Sun. I'm sure I wouldn't have made it back alive if not for him. I am also glad my son isn't a Whimp like his Mom because he really did the majority of the rowing and I'm sure glad he put up with me in the 105 degree heat. It's not really as easy as it looks (paddling a Canoe), it takes a bit of skill just to get the silly thing pointed in the right direction. It was also difficult on Sun. because we had to push through weeds and a beaver dam, poor Doug had to get out in this swampy area and push the canoe through all that too. On the other side was this pristine area that no one ever goes to, because of how you have to get there. That was the pay off! It was beautiful and we paddled through a cave and saw an Owl's nest and several species of birds. On Sat. Doug dove off cliffs and saw petroglyphs. I was too exhausted to get out of the Canoe (it's the age difference I guess). We actually started talking to each other again on the way home and I think in a year or 2 he may forgive me for making him go. Try this if you dare, but I'll probably watch the discovery channel for this kind of thing in the future.

(#31) I finally got a Passport!

Hi All,
Well it took me long enough, but I finally applied for my Passport. I'm going on a trip to St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles, with my friend Davee the end of May, so I'm praying I get this back in time to get on the plane. I had to of course pay a lot extra to get the 3-5 day rush service. I really need to stop being such a Procrastinator. Hey what excitement would I have if not sweating over the time line :)
Have an Awesome week everyone! Sue
